Self-identification questionnaire on UCPath

  • You’ll also be asked to complete a self-identification questionnaire about veteran and disability status, race, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
  • This information provides important data regarding the diversity of UC employees and informs UC’s efforts to create an inclusive environment. You can choose to “decline to state” on any of the questions. Click here for a demo on completing the questionnaire.

Set Your Preferred Name for Your Dashboard

  • You have an option to personalize your UCPath dashboard – you can opt to display your preferred name.  To make the change, select Employee Actions > Personal Information > Personal Information Summary.  Overall, the use of an employee’s legal name is required for some university business. However, UC recognizes that an employee’s preferred name will be used wherever possible. To learn more, click on UCPath Preferred Name Job Aid.

Security questions

  • The first time you log in you’ll be prompted to set up five security questions to protect your personal data. The security questions help verify your identity to prevent unauthorized access or changes to your financial, health benefits or personal information. Click here for a demo on setting up your security questions.

Go green. Sign up for online W-2s

  • Ready to switch to electronic delivery? While you’re thinking about it, sign up now so you’re all set for next year’s tax season. Log on to UCPath, then click on Employee Actions>Enroll to Receive Online W-2.
  • Once you’ve signed up to receive your W-2s electronically, the election will remain in effect until you change it. In addition to being more convenient, it reduces the need for printing and distributing paper W2s, resulting in savings of both labor and natural resources.

Verifying your employment on UCPath

  • If you are applying for a loan, an apartment or job, your employment verifier (such as your bank, leasing agent, or employer) will need to access your employment information through The Work Number website. If you need information for your personal records, you have a new option – downloading a personal employment summary report through your UCPath account.
